“When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy.” — Psalm 94:19
Anxiety doesn’t knock. It piles up — the bills, the what-ifs, the 3 a.m. replay of everything you said and didn’t say. David knew that crowded, noisy kind of worry, and he didn’t pretend it away. He named where the help came from: God’s comfort reached deeper than the anxiety did.
Notice the promise isn’t that the worries vanish. It’s that joy shows up in the middle of them — God’s consolation, His nearness, doing what our own reasoning can’t. When your mind won’t slow down, you don’t have to out-argue every fear. You get to be comforted by Somebody bigger than the fear.
Today’s prayer: Lord, my mind is loud and my worries are many. Meet me in the middle of them. Let Your comfort bring the joy that anxiety says I can’t have. Hold my heart steady today. Amen.
What worry do you need God to meet you in today? Tell us in the comments — we pray over every name.
